Cancer Awareness Corvette

Welcome to our site

This website was created to show people the progress of the Corvette during the build. The site is also intended to help educate people, and raise awareness about cancer. The 1975 Corvette below is what will change into our Cancer Awareness Race Car.

To the right: Picture of the 350 as it sits cradled in the corvette, this is how it looked when we brought the car home.  Nothing fancy and old alum Edelbrock intake and Holley dual feed crab.   This will all change soon enough.

Below: are pictures of the original 68' Scuderia Filipinetti car that raced LeMans, the original driver was Henri E. Greder.  This look is what we are using to establish what our finished Corvette will look like.

Everyone young, old sick and healthy have at one time or another seen a Corvette that has always stuck in their mind as the ultimate car.  Thru the help of others we plan to recreate one of those cars, and use it to to help educate people about cancer.  The car hopefully when finished will bring smiles and hope to those fighting cancer and the survivors.

"Whoever said winning isn't everything never fought cancer"

Our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma when she was 16 months old. Our families entire world was turned upside and changed forever. All it took was for the doctor to say one word "cancer". Over the next 72 hours we made alot of decisions regarding what was in the best interest for our daughter. Several weeks later the idea of building a car to came to mind, weaving together racing legend and cancer awareness to help educate people.

To the left: The Corvette that will become our Cancer Awareness car.

To the left is the LeMans race look that we are aiming for.  If you look thru the web site and come back to this image you can get a better idea of how we are going to blend racing history and cancer awareness into one.

What is going to make our finshed car unique? People of all ages, race, gender will be invited to sit in the car and get a feel of what it would be like to sit in race car that has its sponsrships and main goal is to race against cancer and help to find a cure.  This will not be a trailer queen that people cannot get withing 10" feet of we are going to encourage people to look fell and see the carup close and personal.

Children have Make A Wish, 4 Diamonds and other funds tohelp them when they are diagnosed with cancer..... but what do young people and adults have? family support? hotlines? their doctors?  This car may be the chance for someone to bond with a loved one, a friend, another car enthusiast one last time.... maybe help open the line of communication to talk about their medical situation.

The car will have the look that its driving for Cancer Awareness alone, but the car will be taken to events to help  raise awareness from things such as MDA, CP, CF, Downs and other childhood diseases.  It would also be a great way to escort Santa Clause or other VIP to the childrens' hospitals.  You will see the finished car at schools, parades, car shows, hospitals.  The events will be unlimited, even if you would like the car to be present at grand openings, sales, open houses, all we ask is that the company holding said event donates a check towards a cancer research foundation.  To request the car to any such event please e-mail me directly with the date, time, and location plus all of your contact information.
